Travis is a cast member of Instant Theatre Company at the Havana Theatre on Commercial Drive. He produces the monthly (since summer 2016) mashup of scripted theatre and improv, The Actor's Nightmare, and has also created and directed science fiction horror comedies, a hip-hop musical, an improvised church service for a religion made up on the spot, and more. He also performs regularly with The Fictionals. In 2015 he won the Favourite Performer award in the Local Ensemble at the Vancouver International Improv Festival and in 2018 was selected for the International Ensemble at Improvaganza in Edmonton.

Travis Bernhardt and Chris Ross scribble outside the lines of improv comedy with their high energy, hilarious, and surreal two-man show. Their extreme physicality, endearingly strange characters, and commitment to entertain by any means necessary surprise and delight audiences across Canada.
Formed in 2015, Chris & Travis have had two sold out runs at the Vancouver Fringe (winning Pick of the Fringe in 2017), won the 2016 Vancouver Cagematch Tournament of Champions, and have been selected for the Vancouver International Improv Festival (2015 and 2016), the 2017 Paper Street Improv Festival in Victoria, and the 2017 Play the Fool Festival in Edmonton.

The improvised church service for a religion made up on the spot!
Based on a concept first performed by Chris & Travis in 2015, Unscriptured made its debut as a solo show in 2017 at the Edmonton Fringe Festival. In 2018 it toured the Saskatoon, Edmonton, Victoria, and Vancouver Fringe Festivals, winning the Pick of the Fringe award in Vancouver.
"Bernhardt is an intuitive and wildly talented performer.
With Unscriptured, he eschews his usual stage magic to explore the enduring pull of collective spirituality with a spontaneously-created church service. And it’s BRILLIANT.” ★★★★★ –Melanie Tromp Hoover, Check The Program, Victoria
